EBay Urges Users To Change Passwords

ebay_PayPal

EBay says hackers have infiltrated its systems and is urging users to change their passwords. The company says the breach may have exposed some customer information, but is unaware of its PayPal customers getting affected by the breach, or any adverse effect on eBay customers.

The breach occurred between late February and early March and resulted in unauthorized access to a database of users that includes customer name, encrypted password, email address, physical address, phone number and date of birth. The file did not contain financial information, says eBay.

The company says it is working with law enforcement and security experts to investigate the breach.
