Comtech Mobile Datacom Receives U.S. Army Satellite Bandwidth Contract

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Comtech Telecommunications’ Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom, has received a three month undefinitized contract which calls for the continued supply of satellite bandwidth, through June 30, 2012, for the U.S. Army’s Blue Force Tracking (“BFT-1”) and Movement Tracking System (“MTS”) programs.

This satellite bandwidth contract is separate and distinct from Comtech’s receipt of an undefinitized $80.7 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity BFT-1 sustainment contract announced earlier today. This three month undefinitized satellite bandwidth contract has been initially funded in the amount of $18.0 million and the pricing for the satellite bandwidth has not yet been finalized. This contract does not include any optional performance periods.

Comtech Mobile Datacom, a Germantown, Maryland-based company, is engaged in the provision of satellite-based packet data communication systems and location and messaging services through the use of advanced communication and network technology.
