Comcast selects AWS as its preferred public cloud provider

Comcast has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a preferred public cloud infrastructure provider. Comcast’s primary businesses, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal, are currently running workloads on AWS; the company will additionally be migrating material workloads and building new applications on AWS.

Jan Hofmeyr, chief network and operations officer and senior vice president at Comcast Cable, said “Over the years, we have leveraged the breadth and depth of AWS’s services, including compute, storage, and analytics.”

Comcast Cable is a video, high-speed internet, and phone service provider to residential and business customers under the Xfinity brand. Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal are the two primary businesses of Comcast.
