Cherry Shuts Down

Cherry

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

On-demand car wash service Cherry is shutting down. The company will be providing refunds to customers who have pre-paid for car washes, and work with its marketing partners, Groupon and LivingSocial, to issue refunds on any outstanding coupons as well.

After over a year in market, we’ve decided to change courses a bit and pursue an exciting opportunity that emerged while running Cherry. As of December 23rd, we will cease car wash services while we explore alternative options for the Cherry car wash business.

Cherry, often dubbed the Uber of car washing, was launched in November 2011. The company raised $4.5 million in a Series A round in April this year.
