Box Raises $100M, Valued At $2B

boxBox has raised $100 million from, and inked partnerships with Itochu Technology Ventures, Macnica, Mitsui, Telefónica Digital, Telstra, DST Global and Coatue. The investment pegs the company at a net worth of $2 billion.

In another development, Box is also stepping up its global presence. The company will be opening new offices in Japan, Latin America, and Australia next year.

Box is translated into 13 languages beyond English (with many more to come, says the company) and is being used by millions of individuals at businesses around the globe, with 40 per cent of the company’s users coming from outside the United States.
