Black Box Awarded $103M IT Managed Services Deal

Technology solutions provider Black Box has been awarded an eight-year, $103 million managed services agreement by Miami-Dade County for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD). The agreement—which includes two, one-year options for renewal—is to provide telecommunications, data network and shared airport tenant services throughout Miami International Airport and its associated general aviation airports.

Currently, Black Box has an on-site team at the airport that performs programming, technical engineering and system design. This includes an on-site IT service desk that serves as the focal point for IT-related service calls and requests. The service desk achieved ISO/IEC 20000 certification for IT Service Management through 2018.
