BitPay Launches Bitcoin Merchant Directory

If you want to shop using bitcoins, but did not know where to find merchants that accepted the peer-to-peer digital currency, this information may come in handy.

Bitcoin payment processor BitPay has launched a global bitcoin directory which features bitcoin-accepting merchants. “We are often asked where to spend bitcoins and this global directory allows bitcoin merchants around the world to get discovered,” says Tony Gallippi, BitPay co-founder and CEO. Over 12,000 businesses accept bitcoin with BitPay.

There are currently over 5 million bitcoin users worldwide, according to BitPay estimates.
