BigID raises $14 million

Enterprise data protection and privacy company BigID has raised $14 million in Series A funding. New investors in the round include ClearSky Security, Comcast Ventures and the SAP.iO Fund. Existing investor BOLDstart Ventures also participated in the Series A round.

BigID has raised $16.1 million to date. The company is based in the U.S. with engineering headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel.

ClearSky Security managing director Jay Leek has joined the BigID board.

Amazon to invest up to $4B in Anthropic

Amazon will invest up to $4 billion in Anthropic, and will acquire a minority ownership stake in the company. The two companies also announced a strategic agreement aimed at the development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models.
