Avaya appoints Greg Pelton to oversee technology strategy

Avaya has appointed Greg Pelton to vice president, technology strategy. Mr. Pelton returns to Avaya after previously serving as chief technology officer for the government solutions arm of the company from 2011 to 2014. He will report to Nikos Nikolopoulos, senior vice president, Corporate Strategy, Development & Marketing.

Mr. Pelton was most recently chief technology officer and vice president, infrastructure engineering, for Polycom. Prior to that, he held several management positions in technology and engineering at Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks.

Mr. Pelton’s responsibilities will include strategic growth and technology transformation initiatives as well as guiding the broader technology strategy for Avaya.
