Asana Raises $28M

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Peter Thiel and Founders Fund, along with existing investors Benchmark, Andreessen-Horowitz, and Mitch Kapor have invested$28 million in workplace collaboration company Asana.  Asana says it plans to use the capital primarily to grow its teams. Mr. Thiel is joining the company’s board of directors.

Dustin Moskovitz (Co-founder, Asana): We believe that if Asana can increase an organization’s capacity to achieve its potential by only 1 per cent, let alone double or 10x it, that’s a really leveraged opportunity to help the world.

Asana was launched around nine months ago, founded by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and Justin Rosenstein, a Facebook and Google alum. Over a quarter of weekly users use Asana every work day. In the past four months, the number of tasks tracked in Asana had doubled from 9 million to 18 million.
