Apple to acquire digital magazine service Texture

Apple has signed an agreement to acquire Texture; a digital magazine subscription service by Next Issue Media, which gives users access to titles for a monthly subscription fee.

Texture is currently available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Windows 8/10 devices. The subscription service has a collection of 200 magazines. Texture’s current owners include Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith, Rogers Media and KKR.

Financial terms of the transaction were not shared.
