Apple, Salesforce collaborating for Salesforce iOS apps

Apple and Salesforce have inked a strategic partnership. Salesforce, working with Apple, will redesign the Salesforce mobile app for experiences exclusively on iOS, with Apple capabilities such as Siri Shortcuts, Face ID, and Business Chat, the companies said in a statement.

Salesforce is introducing a Trailhead Mobile App first on iOS. Apple and Salesforce are also developing a Salesforce Mobile SDK optimized for Swift. The native SDK is expected to enable developers to build and deploy apps for iOS on the Salesforce Lightning Platform.

Apple is launching a new Get Started with iOS App Development Trail that teaches how to build native iOS apps in Xcode with Swift.

The Salesforce Mobile SDK for iOS will be available by the end of 2018.
