Amazon Gets Into The Education Business With TenMarks Acquisition

Amazon has reached an agreement to acquire online education company TenMarks for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Dave Limp (Vice president, Amazon Kindle): Together, Amazon and TenMarks intend to develop rich educational content and applications, across multiple platforms.

TenMarks offers personalized online math instruction and practice for K-12 students.

IBM has announced an agreement with RIKEN, a Japanese national research laboratory, to deploy IBM's quantum computer architecture and quantum processor at the RIKEN Center for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan.
