Alluxio raises $8.5 million

Data storage company Alluxio has closed $8.5 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Seven Seas Partners with participation from existing investor Andreessen Horowitz.

Veritas founder and former CEO Mark Leslie joined the investment round and will serve as a board observer, the company said in a statement. Jack Xu, managing partner of Seven Seas, joins the company’s board of directors as well.

Alluxio has raised $16 million to date.
