Alcatel-Lucent Appoints Michel Combes CEO

Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Michel Combes as the company’s new CEO. Mr. Combes is also expected to join the company’s board.

Mr. Combes, 51 has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry on a worldwide basis. He was CEO of Vodafone Europe and a board member of Vodafone. During his career, he has held the positions of chairman and CEO of TDF as well as CFO and senior executive vice president of France Telecom.

In another development, Jean C. Monty, former CEO of Nortel Networks, and Bell Canada, has been appointed as vice-Chairman of the board.
