Airwallex raises $100M

Fintech platform company Airwallex has closed a Series E extension (Series E2) round of $100 million.

Participants in the round include existing investors Square Peg, Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia Capital China, Lone Pine Capital, Hermitage Capital, 1835i and Tencent.

The company’s valuation stays the same as the previous $5.5 billion, says Airwallex.

Airwallex was founded by Jack Zhang and Max Li, together with friends from the University of Melbourne, Lucy Liu and Xijing Dai in 2015.
