Acer Launches $199 Iconia A1 Tablets

Acer has unveiled Iconia A1, the company’s first full-featured 7.9-inch tablet.    

The Iconia A1 weighs 0.90 pounds and is 0.44 inches thin, and comes with built-in GPS, 802.11b/g/n wireless technology, and Bluetooth 4.0. It is powered by a MediaTek Quad Core 1.2GHz processor. The LED-backlit display with IPS technology comes with a 170-degree viewing angle, and a 1024×768 resolution screen with 4:3 aspect ratio.  

Other features include a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a front-facing camera. The Iconia A1 also includes micro USB 2.0 and microHDMI ports. Acer’s Touch WakeApp gesture gives users one-touch express access to their favorite apps directly upon waking from sleep.   

The Iconia A1 is available as 8GB or 16GB2 versions, with the option to add an additional 32GB via microSD. Prices start from $199.
