Yahoo has acquired Xobni, a company that makes address book plugins, and apps under the Smartr moniker (the name ‘Xobni’ is actually ‘Inbox’ spelled backwards), for a deal reported to be north of $30 million.

Xobni started off as a pet project by co-founder Adam Smith in a MIT dorm, and has received seed funding from YCombinator, among other investors.
