Today Is Wikipedia Day

Wikipedia

Thirteen years ago on this day, Wikipedia went public after spending five days on Nupedia, an English-language Web-based encyclopedia also founded by Jimmy Wales. You can read more about Wikipedia Day here.

The English Wikipedia has 4,425,000 articles, and 30,600 editors who had made five edits or more (user stats from November). There are 30.3 million articles and 69,500 active editors across all languages.

Here’s wishing Wikipedia a happy thirteenth!
