FedEx Trade Networks Completes ACE Migration

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

FedEx Trade Networks, the freight forwarding and customs brokerage arm of shipping giant FedEx, has enabled ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) entry summary filing at all U.S. ports of entry. The year-long migration effort began at U.S. border crossings, and then expanded to commercial air and sea ports, before concluding with ACE implementation at all FedEx Express international hubs.

ACE is U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) new automation system which replaces the aging Automated Commercial System (ACS). By getting on board early, FedEx Trade Networks has developed its expertise and improved its system capabilities for the new regulatory environment.

As an early ACE adopter, FedEx Trade Networks and its participating customers are taking advantage of the new features of ACE, including the use of electronic Post Summary Corrections (PSCs) to replace paper Post Entry Amendments (PEAs), says the company. FedEx Trade Networks is also participating in the ACE Simplified Entry and the Document Image System (DIS) pilot programs.
