Yahoo Encrypting All Information (Take That NSA!)

Yahoo

Yahoo will encrypt all information that moves between the company’s data centers by the end of Q1 2014, says the company. Yahoo will also offer users an option to encrypt all data flow to/from Yahoo.

Yahoo is introducing https (SSL – Secure Sockets Layer) encryption with a 2048-bit key across Yahoo Mail by January 8, 2014, and is working with international mail partners to enable https to Yahoo co-branded mail, as well.

In a blog post announcing the news, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer reiterated that the compay has never given access to its data centers to the NSA or to any other government agency, ever.
