LG G2 Promotion Event Goes Horribly Wrong In Seoul

A promotional event in Seoul organized by LG to showcase the recently-launched G2 smartphones, resulted in a scramble that sent some 20 people to the hospital.

Held in a public park, the promotion involved the company releasing balloons in the air, with 100 free LG G2 coupons attached. The security personnel present were unable to control the crowd once the event started, especially as several people had come armed with BB guns to pop the balloons.

According to a report by Kim Yoo-Chul in the Korea Times, LG is canceling outdoor events for G2 for now, and will be financially compensating those injured in the event.
