Intel has launched a software development kit (SDK) that allows developers to program quantum algorithms in simulation and interface with Intel’s quantum hardware.
The SDK includes a quantum runtime environment for executing hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and a programming interface written in C++ using a low-level virtual machine (LLVM) compiler toolchain.
The Horse Ridge II control chip and the quantum spin qubit chip can interface with the SDK, and Intel is using the SDK internally to co-design quantum hardware and software together.
The Intel Quantum Software Development Kit (SDK) Version 1.0 is now available.
Beta testers from University of Pennsylvania, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Penn State University, and Leidos Innovation Center are already working with the kit, according to Intel.
