HP Appoints Maria Cino Government Relations Head For Americas

HP has appointed Maria Cino vice president for Americas and U.S. Government Relations. Ms. Cino will be based in Washington, D.C., and will report to Gregg Melinson, vice president, global Government Relations.

Ms. Cino will oversee HP’s relationships with governments throughout the Americas, working closely with other companies, associations and coalitions on issues of mutual interest, says the company. She will also manage HP political programs in the United States, including overseeing the HP political action committee.

Ms. Cino joins HP from Pfizer, where she was vice president, Federal Government Relations, since 2009. Prior to that, she served as president and chief executive officer of the 2008 Republican National Convention. She has held two Senate-confirmed presidential appointments—deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, and assistant secretary and director general of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service—as well as a number of other positions within the executive and legislative branches of government.
