Sema4 raises $121M Series C round

Stamford, CT-based health intelligence company Sema4 has raised $121 million from BlackRock, in a Series C funding round.

Deerfield Management Company and Moore Strategic Ventures also participated in the investments. Sema4’s existing investors Section 32, Oak HC/FT, Decheng, and the Connecticut Innovation Fund also invested in the Series C round.

Sema4 was spun out of the Mount Sinai Health System in June 2017. The company’s latest funding pegs it at $1 billon valuation, says Sema4.

Andrew Elbardissi, MD Partner at Deerfield, has joined Sema4’s board of directors.
