Microsoft is hiring Kate Johnson, the chief commercial officer and EVP for GE Digital, as the company’s president and corporate vice president. She will begin in September as president and corporate vice president (CVP) of Microsoft US.

Ms. Johnson was chief executive at GE Intelligent Platforms Software previously. Before that, she was chief commercial officer at GE. Ms. Johnson also held senior management positions at Oracle and Red Hat, and was managing director of UBS Investment Bank.

Ms. Johnson has an MBA from Wharton, and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University.
