Fiat Chrysler joins BMW, Intel, Mobileye to build driverless cars

Fiat Chrysler is joining BMW, Intel and Mobileye to build driverless cars. The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding on autonomous driving, which makes Fiat Chrysler the first automaker to join the BMW-Intel-Mobileye alliance.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

BMW, Intel, and Mobileye joined forces in July last year to work on self-driving vehicles. The cooperation remains on-track to deploy 40 autonomous test vehicles on the road by 2017 year-end, say the companies.
