Debra Lee joins AT&T board

AT&T has added Debra Lee, former chairman and CEO of BET Networks and founder of Leading Women Defined, to its board.

Ms. Lee joined BET Networks, a subsidiary of Viacom, in 1986. At BET, she served in several leadership roles, including chief operating officer and general counsel, before she served as chairman and CEO at BET from 2006 until her retirement last year.

Ms. Lee is the founder of Leading Women Defined which launched in 2009 and serves on the board of Marriott International, as well as several professional and civic organizations, including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Ms. Lee holds a BA from Brown University, a JD from Harvard Law School and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
