Cloud Foundry Foundation names three new board members

The Cloud Foundry Foundation has announced three new board members – Allianz Germany CIO Dr. Andreas Nolte, SUSE CTO Thomas Di Giacomo, and VMware vice president and general manager Paul Fazzone.

As CIO for Allianz Germany, Dr. Nolte leads 1,250 employees. He is also a member of the management board of AllSecur and AMOS. He holds a diploma in Mathematics and a PhD in Computer Science, both from University of Cologne. After finishing his PhD, Dr. Nolte attended Yale University and Carnegie Mellon University as a post-graduate in Computer Science.

Dr. Di Giacomo has more than 15 years of experience in the IT industry, serving in various global leadership roles in engineering and product innovation, with expertise in open source platforms, software development, and support of global information systems and technologies applied to various industries such as telecommunication, hospitality and healthcare, including his time as CTO at Swisscom Hospitality.

Mr. Fazzone is responsible for VMware’s container and application modernization strategy, including open source. He has more than 15 years experience building and implementing data center virtualization, networking and security solutions, and currently leads VMware’s open source container initiatives such as Photon OS, Photon Controller, Lightwave and Harbor.

Cloud Foundry is an open source technology backed technology companies including Cisco, Dell/EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Google, IBM, Pivotal, SAP and SUSE.
