Matt Mullenweg Is WordPress CEO

Matt Mullenweg, creator of the blogging platform WordPress, and the founder of Automattic, the company behind WordPress, is taking over the helm as CEO. Toni Schneider, Automattic CEO for eight years will now be focusing on some of Automattic’s new products.

Matt Mullenweg (CEO, WordPress): Internally this isn’t a big change as our roles have always been quite fluid, and I’ve had some recent practice filling in for him for a few months last year when he was on sabbatical.

Mr. Schneider, a vice president at Yahoo, joined Automattic in 2006.
