VMware announces key alliances, says working on IoT offerings

VMware announced key alliances in the Internet of Things (IoT) space. The company says it is working with Bayshore Networks, Dell, Intwine Connect, Deloitte Digital, PTC and V5 Systems. The company will leverage its core strengths around device management, operational analytics and security to bring IoT customer offerings, says Bask Iyer, chief information officer and general manager, IoT, with the company.

VMware announced Liota (Little IoT Agent), a vendor-neutral open source software development kit (SDK) for building secure IoT gateway data and control orchestration applications, in June this year. The company says it plans to continue to develop IoT-related alliances.
