Twitter announces searchable #Stickers for photos

Twitter has launched #Stickers, a photo-editing tool that allows users to choose from hundreds of accessories, emojis, and props and place them on photos they upload to Twitter.

Tweets containing stickers are searchable and discoverable via hashtags (unless they are private). Tapping on a sticker brings up a new timeline of Tweets from people around the world using that same sticker.

“Millions of Tweets with photos are sent every day on Twitter, capturing the moments that the world is talking about,” said Leslie Berland, CMO at Twitter. “By making stickers searchable like hashtags, we’re enabling the best of Twitter: making it easy for people to create conversations around events and experiences that are happening right now,” she added.

Users will have access to a library of stickers across several categories, says Twitter, including Accessories, Animals, Food, Technology and Flags, among others. There will also be a Featured category, highlighting stickers tied to world events and holidays.

#Stickers is rolling out over the coming weeks on Twitter for iOS and Android.
