The State of Nevada and City of Las Vegas ink smart city agreement with NTT

The State of Nevada, City of Las Vegas and NTT have inked an agreement to advance and accelerate smart technologies, following a smart city proof of concept that began in September.

NTT Group will provide the smart city offering to the city commercially, with Las Vegas starting the trial-use of the solution during spring 2019, for a consideration of the full-scale service beginning in summer 2019. NTT is deploying high-definition video cameras, sound sensors, as well as IoT devices to monitor a geographic area within the city’s Innovation District, says the company.

The proof of concept provides information to city personnel to help increase situation awareness and provide a foundation to traffic management and mobility, according to a statement released by NTT.
