Tencent introduced a proprietary foundation model, Hunyuan, at its Global Digital Ecosystem Summit in Shenzhen. Hunyuan is now accessible for enterprises in China through Tencent Cloud for application development and testing via APIs, says the Chinese giant.
The Hunyuan model offers Chinese language processing, logical reasoning, and task execution capabilities. It supports functions such as image creation, copywriting, text recognition, and customer service.
Hunyuan enables enterprises to build custom tools and train their own large models using Tencent’s Model-as-a-Service (MaaS). Launched in June, MaaS provides industry-specific large models with over 50 solutions across 20 industries. Enterprises can refine these models with Hunyuan to enhance their services.
Tencent has integrated Hunyuan with 50 of its products. Examples include Tencent Meeting, which now has a Hunyuan-powered AI assistant for tasks like generating meeting minutes, and Tencent Docs, which supports various text creation scenarios and format generation.
