Teledyne secures $93.9M US Army contract for Black Hornet 3 drones

Teledyne FLIR, a subsidiary of Teledyne, has secured a five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract worth up to $93.9 million with the United States Army. The contract encompasses the delivery of the Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance Systems (PRS), an advanced nano-unmanned aerial system (UAS).

This initial award of the IDIQ contract includes provision of the UAS, along with its controllers, spare parts, and the requisite training for operating the system.

The Black Hornet 3 is currently deployed by Ukrainian forces, with units donated by the governments of Britain and Norway. This month also saw an additional order of 1,000 UAS systems placed by Norway’s Ministry of Defense.
