Semtech is acquiring Sierra Wireless for $1.2 billion, subject to customary closing conditions.

Sierra Wireless has appointed Jim Ryan as senior vice president, Strategic Partner Growth.

Sierra Wireless has appointed Joy Chik to the company’s board of directors. Ms. Chik is corporate vice president for the Identity Division in Microsoft’s Cloud + AI group.

T-Mobile now has a plan for narrowband IoT (NB-IoT). The company says it has also certified new NB-IoT modules from u-blox and Sierra Wireless for use on its network.
