Syntiant raises $35M

Syntiant, a semiconductor startup based in Irvine, California, has raised $35 million in a Series C funding round.

Existing investor Sunstone Venture Capital Fund was joined by the Seraph Group, Microsoft and Applied Materials in the Series C round.

Syntiant develops AI voice and sensor solutions. The company says it has shipped more than one million units of its NDP100 and NDP101 microwatt-power Neural Decision Processors (NDPs).

Syntiant’s low-power AI processing solution enables Always-On Voice (AOV) control, according to the company website.

Syntiant says the technology can be used in battery-powered edge devices, such as smartphones, smart speakers, laptops and earbuds.
