State Of Indiana Offers Online Help To Prevent Identity Fraud

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and IN.gov now offer ValIDate to banks and businesses who value precautionary practices when screening a customer’s identity. “ValIDate is the latest tool added to the IN.gov security toolbox ensuring customer information is secure and businesses’ best interests are protected,” said Robert Paglia, Director of IN.gov.

Utilizing the new ValIDate application at the point of service, an authorized representative enters basic information, such as ID number, first, middle and last name, and date of birth, exactly as it appears on the identification card presented. ValIDate searches the official database of the BMV, providing real-time results in a few seconds.

No personal information is released via this service.

IN.gov is the official Web site of the state of Indiana and a service of the Indiana Office of Technology. The IN.gov program is a collaborative effort between the state of Indiana and Indiana Interactive, the official eGovernment solutions provider for the state of Indiana.
