State Of California To Adopt Samsung Printers

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced that the reseller partner NWN Corporation, a national IT integrator formerly known as Western Blue, has been awarded the new printer contract by the State of California Department of General Services. The contract will provide new Samsung printers and offer a recycling program for State agencies for the next three to five years.

Samsung and NWN developed a program that focused on cost-savings and energy-efficient features, winning against 14 competing bids. The contract is mandatory for State Agencies and is available to all local governments, public educational institutions and special districts throughout California.

Over the next three years, Samsung and NWN will remove, recycle and replace old printers with new, more energy-efficient Samsung printers for all state agencies with models such as the mono chrome laser ML-3712ND and the color laser CLP-770ND.

All printers that will be installed come with smart solutions, such as built-in enhanced security and solution functionality, managed print services and Samsung’s Mobile Print App, which allows for quick printing from a mobile device.

In addition, Samsung and NWN will implement a system that tracks spent toner cartridges. Using a bar code and tracking system, Samsung will be able to keep track of all cartridges in order to encourage their recovery and reuse by tracking both the number of used cartridges received as well as the disposition of the returns.
