Sridhar Ramaswamy named Snowflake CEO

Snowflake chief executive Frank Slootman is retiring, and Sridhar Ramaswamy has been appointed as the new CEO. Mr. Slootman will remain with the company as chairman of the board, Snowflake said in a statement.

Mr. Ramaswamy joined Snowflake in May 2023, after the company acquired Neeva, a private AI-powered search engine started by him. Mr. Ramaswamy previously managed  Google’s Advertising products.

Mr. Ramaswamy’s career includes research roles at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, and Bell Communications Research (Bellcore). He was also a venture partner at Greylock Partners.

Mr. Ramaswamy is a board member of trustees at Brown University.
