Sony Launches History’s Thinnest Walkman

Sony has launched a new line of Walkmans  running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The new line-up also includes the Walkman E470 Series, the slimmest model in Walkman history. The new line of Walkmans will be available beginning August this year.

The  Walkman models come with access to over 14 million songs with Sony Entertainment Network’s cloud-based music service, as a monthly subscription. The Walkman players support drag-and-drop transfer of music, photos, videos, podcasts and playlists from iTunes or Windows Media Player, as well.

Walkman  F800 Series: The Android 4.0 powered Walkman F800 Series offers a range of pre-installed apps, from email to maps and media gallery. It has a 3.5-inch multi-touch screen, bluetooth and NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. The 16G F800 Series will retail for about $269.99 and the 32G will retail for about $299.99.

Walkman E470 Series: The slimmest Walkman  player ever from Sony, the E470 Series is just 7.0-millimeters thin, comes with a 2-inch LCD screen, and available in a metallic red or black finish. Features include a karaoke mode, synchronized lyrics, and pre-installed games, among other things. The 4G E470 Series will retail for about $79.99, the 8G for about $89.99 and the 16G for about $109.99.
