Socure acquires Berbix for $70M

Socure, a digital identity verification solutions provider, has announced its acquisition of San Francisco-based startup Berbix, a developer of an advanced document verification solution. The deal is valued at approximately $70 million and marks Socure’s first acquisition.

Eric Levine, Berbix CEO and co-founder, will join Socure as senior vice president and head of DocV Product Management.

Berbix has developed a forensics engine with patent-pending technology capable of detecting even AI-generated fake IDs. The integration of this technology into Socure’s offerings is now complete, says Socure.

Following the acquisition, Socure has launched its Predictive Document Verification (DocV) 3.0 solution.
