Siemens to open dedicated cloud and IoT research hub in Chicago

Siemens says the company is going to invest $20 million each year to establish a dedicated research and development hub in Chicago. The hub will be focusing on developing cloud and IoT related applications.

The facility is expected to open later this month, and can house more than 100 employees, who will be devoted to building out capabilities and products for Siemens’ Desigo CC and System One platforms, says the company.

Siemens has approximately 3,300 employees in Chicagoland, which is home to Siemens’ Downtown Chicago headquarters, Building Technologies’ North American headquarters, and Siemens Healthineers’ Molecular Imaging global headquarters.
