Shutterstock has inked an expanded six-year agreement with OpenAI. Through this new agreement, the company will be providing training data for OpenAI models.
The partnership provides OpenAI with a license to access Shutterstock training data, including image, video and music libraries, along with associated metadata. Reciprocally, Shutterstock gets priority access to OpenAI’s technologies and will continue using DALL·E’s generative text-to-image capabilities on the Shutterstock platform.
The integration also equips Shutterstock’s customers with synthetic editing tools. This enables users to create new content as well as edit and transform images in the Shutterstock library. The generative AI capabilities will also be brought to mobile users through Shutterstock’s newly acquired platform, GIPHY, in collaboration with OpenAI.
