Shinsuke Takahashi Joins NEC America As CEO

Shinsuke Takahashi has joined NEC America as president and CEO effective January 1, 2013. He succeeds Takayuki Okada, who is returning to Japan to take up new responsibilities at NEC Corporation.

In his new role, Mr. Takahashi will oversee the company’s diverse businesses in North America, including voice, data and IT solutions for enterprise, government and carrier markets.

Mr. Takahashi brings to NEC more than 20 years of sales, marketing and business development, primarily with NEC and NEC America. His most recent position was as president of JAE Electronics, a provider of advanced electronic components and aerospace products based in Irvine, California. JAE Electronics, is the US subsidiary of Japan Aviation Electronics (JAE)  of Tokyo, Japan. NEC Corporation is a shareholder in JAE.

Mr. Takahashi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sophia University, Tokyo, and participated in an International Exchange Program at the University of Wisconsin from 1978 to 1979.
