Seth Hutchinson to head the Georgia Tech Center

The Georgia Institute of Technology has selected Seth Hutchinson as the new executive director of the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM). Mr. Hutchinson is a professor and KUKA Chair for Robotics in Georgia Tech’s College of Computing and has served as associate director of IRIM.

Before joining Georgia Tech in January 2018, he was a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mr. Hutchinson holds a bachelor of science, master of science and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

IRIM serves more than 90 faculty members, 180 graduate students and 40 robotics labs. The robotics program at Georgia Tech attracts more than $60 million in research annually.
