The board of directors of Best Buy has appointed a CEO search committee to oversee a search process to identify candidates for the struggling retail giant’s CEO position. The committee will be looking both outside and inside the company, and current interim CEO Mike Mikan is in the running as well.
Kathy J. Higgins Victor, who also serves as chairwoman of the Nominating, Corporate Governance and Public Policy Committee and a member of the Compensation and Human Resources Committee, will chair the search committee.
Brian Dunn, former CEO of Best Buy, resigned as chief executive officer and director on April 10th. Best Buy stock has declined by some 50 per cent over the last five years, and the company is desperately looking for a turnaround.
