Samsung SDI will start operating a photovoltaic (PV) paste production line in its Wuxi Plant located in Jiangsu Province, China. Operations will start at 40 tons a month and will go up to 100 tons a month in the future, said the company. The plant will be used to met demand in China, as well as Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia and India, which are emerging as new photovoltaic markets recently.
PV paste converts photovoltaic energy to electricity. It is applied in a thin checkerboard-shaped layer to the surface of a solar cell. The amount of solar energy received by a solar cell and converted into electricity depends on the paste performance.
