RIM Changes Name To BlackBerry

Research in Motion (RIM) will now operate under the ‘BlackBerry’ name. The company announced the rebranding at the launch event of BlackBerry 10, its much awaited operating system.

Thorsten Heins (President and CEO, BlackBerry): This change from Research In Motion to BlackBerry comes at a defining moment in our company’s history.

As part of the move, RIM will now trade as ‘BB’ on the Toronto Stock Exchange and ‘BBRY’ on the NASDAQ.
