Hewlett Packard (HP) is not the only company to change its mind a couple of times in public; now Netflix makes the cut. Days after Reed Hastings hastily (forgive us our wordplay) announced different pricing plans for the movie rental and movie streaming services, the company announced it was packaging off the two services as two different websites (Enter Qwikster) following a major backlash from users. Now and all that has been scraped. Qwikster is not to be.
“It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs,” says Hastings in the Netflix blog. He elaborates – “This means no change: one website, one account, one password… in other words, no Qwikster.”
While the July price change was necessary, the company adds that it is done with price changes. For the time being, at any rate.
